Hello,

I've been searching out the best way to put together my MythTV box. I ran across KnoppMyth and seems to be a very promising distribution. While going through the documents I can't seem to find a complete list of packages included with KnoppMyth.

So my question is two fold:

1) Does KnoppMyth include all development tools to compile and manage MythTV and other source? gcc, CVS, ... etc

2) If it doesn't might it be possible to put together either a KnoppMyth with developer tools or include development tools on the normal distribution?

I know many people will tell me, just apt-get install < insert all the packages>. However I, unfortunately, still have dialup and have to get my large files from another place where I can't take my myth box. And to get all the developer tools and files would be a hassle. Otherwise I will just have to install a normal distribution and do it that way.

Thank you for your time and effort!

knoppmyth has gcc and other development tools necessary to compile mythtv and mplayer. The only noteable exception at this point is some of the qt stuff for mythbrowser, which is why mythbrowser is not included. this should be included in R5 from what I understand.

So are all kernel headers, kernel source, and dev libraries are included?

Hmm, I think I'll wait for R4v4 hits the mirrors on Sunday to download, so I'll have 0.15 right from the start.

Thank you!

Yes, the kernel source headers are all there, and the rest of the kernel source is also there in a compressed archive.

Cheers,
