MythWeb

I have been trying to use the StreamTV and on that screen there are 25-50 shows listed that it can stream. Yet when I go to recorded programs there is only one program listed the only one I asked it to record.

I then go to the disk an low and behold all those programs are there.

Um why is it recording programs I did not ask it to record? My 100 gig disk fills up to fast as it is, I cannot have it recording things that I do not care about.

I have been doing the Watch TV from MythFront End does it record what I have watched?

I cannot verify if those are the programs that I have been watching, since I have spent the last few days trying to get it to work. What I have been watching was incidental to me trying to get it to work.

Thanx

Bodger

EDIT>

It appears it is continously recording whatever is on the tv at the time. I do have Watch TV on, but we do that so we can use the network remote control since we broke our DirectTV remote control.

Is that the problem?

EDIT>

I also have no way to delete those programs without ssh'ing into the box and doing an rm, but then the database would not know they are gone.

hi

Check your settings for tv. You have a filter turned on.

This is probably in a FAQ somewhere but Mythtv will record everything when you "Watch TV". This is so you can go back to something you previously watched live. Normally this is filtered from your Watch Recordings screen.
You should NOT delete these recordings from the command line. In fact you shouldn't need to delete them at all as Mythtv will automatically delete them when it needs the space.
