After some tweaking and adding/deleting some tuner cards, my tuners are now listed as 5, 6, and 7. Is there any way to change the tuner numbers? I'd like to bring them back to 1, 2, and 3, which is what they were originally.

Drop all the card definitions and recreate them. Don't forget to recreate the input connections. I just went throught his excercise after discovering I had a couple stale definitions from an old version.

That is how I ended up in this situation.

I deleted them all and created all three from scratch specifically so they would be 1, 2, and 3. When I checked at the end, unfortunately, they were 5, 6, and 7.

The only way I was able to do this was to truncate the capturecard table in the DB. I removed all the cards/inputs in mythtv-setup then ran (as root):
Code:
mysql mythconverg
truncate capturecard;

Now when you re-setup the cards within mythtv-setup they should be 1, 2, 3, etc.

1. Stop mythbackend
2. drop all cards in mythtv-setup
3. start mythbackend
4. stop mythbackend
5. setup cards again in mythtv-setup
6. start backend

I think you have to use the "delete all capture cards" options, and not the host limited one.

I almost added a comment about checking in the DB to make sure that really worked, but I try not to write directions that people are probably going to ignore... ;-)

I just use the Mysql plugin for Webmin and edit the table data that has the card info then restart the backend. Way less time consuming than wiping out all your card settings.

The only problem with that is that you need to know all the other places that mention the card id and fix them to maintain referential integrity. By the time you get that right dropping an recreating is probably just as fast....
