Hi all,

Just trying to install a frontend on my persona PC which is on the same LAN as the knoppmyth box and runs Kubuntu.

When I start it up from the command line it fails to connect to the mysqlserver, but its using an incorrect IP address. I remember playing with this about a month ago with odd results and messed around with setting the backend in different configs.

So I did a purge on mythtv-frontend and mythtv-common and reinstalled with apt-get.

Exact same problem, its using an incorrect IP. Where else does it get the backends address from ? Obviously somewhere besides a config file in said packages.

Any help appreciated.

You will need to set this using mythtv-setup on your front end box.

If it's missing there is something wrong with your install. It's part of the MythTV suite, along with the front end and backend, and is used for configuration during the install.
Code:
root@black2:~# type mythtv-setup
mythtv-setup is /usr/bin/mythtv-setup
