I am able to get SPDIF pass through working fine, but I have to load alsamixer and "unmute" the IE98something or other output.

Is there a way to set this UNmuted all the time so that if I have to reboot/restart the mythtv box, I get sound?

Is this something done in a custom asound config file?

after you make your changes and exit alsamixer
type:
alsactl store

Yes it is. It defaults to your analog out on your card.

It doesn't make any sense to me why the alsa group doesn't code it in to automatically do the "store" when exiting alsamixer. If I want to change a setting, it should stay changed until I want to change it back.
