I upgraded to E50 last night and I made a mistake at the "Use PVR-350 for output" question.

The screen resolution had changed or the overscan was wrong or something - but I couldn't read the left edge of the screen.

So when I was asked if I wanted to use the PVR-350 for output I though it meant input, so I said 'yes'. Now I have output on the PVR-350.

I'm not against that (quality is pretty good) except that it doesn't do audio right. Until now I've used ALSA:SPDIF for audio so I can have 5.1 digital data going to my A/V receiver from DVDs and other Movie files. My understanding is that in using the '350 for video, I have to use it for audio and only get the L/R (two channel) audio in that case.

So, I have two questions...

1) I saw an option in settings/TV/Playback under 'Hardware' that referred to 'Always use the PVR350 for Audio'. Sounds like sometimes you can leave the audio going via ALSA and SPDIF. Is that true? I've tried it on and off and it didn't work for me...

2) How do you *undo* using the PVR-350 and framebuffer. What I'd like is the equivalent of lirc_reconfigure.sh. There is a <something>_350a.sh script that *configures* for the 350, but not one that configures it for regular display.

(An alternative for 2: Does anyone out there have an E50 running on a MII10000 or equiv *without* framebuffer/PVR-350 output? If so, can you please send me your xorg.conf.)

Many thanks for your help.
Paul.

1) I still dont believe you can use SPDIF (or any other audio output) when using the 350's video output.

2) The easiest way I found to undo the Framebuffer settings is to rerun the upgrader.

Cheers.
Paul.
