I'm sorry folks,

before i leave i want to say thank you builders of knoppmyth and all others who are putting so much energy into helping others.

Only i am giving up, it's to sad so much difficulties arise everytime i try another way to get mythtv working. I tried so much differnet way's

- Ubuntu
- Mythdora
and now i was realy hoping to find a way to build my system with knoppmyth.

But alas, i give up, i am forced to fill in a postcode during the configuration (after i found out that a terminal screen was waiting with ALT-TAB while i was waiting what for progress after mythsetup part 4

I am living in the Netherlands and have to use a grabber. So no zap tv or whatever.

anyway, so much error message's already in the setup

NO /root/.lircrc /etc/lircrc (don't exist !!)

Mythweather forces me to fill a postcode (only it shows US etc) and as a result my europe zip code results in error (and no way to change it in the setup !!!!!!!!!!)

No working remote (silver) while i choose it anyway during setup

etc, etc...........

Only hope is fellow Dutchman who has this thing working, maybe he or she can help me out. I will hope and wait for a while and otherwise i just give up.............

I've not seen any of your posts here, so without asking for help on particular points, it's very difficult to answer your questions.

You need to select the correct grabber for your country, the default is just that, the default. I use for the UK one (tv_grab_uk_rt). Though you haven't described your current config, if you are using DVB-T you can use the EIT grabber so get your EPG information from your TV signal.
Of course not, the MythTV user is not root. The lirc information is held under /etc/lirc and /home/mythtv/.mythtv/ .
It not clear what is required for non US users, you either put in a US post code or the weather station location information, in my case it is :UKXX0045. You should be able to Press Enter at the prompt and in the front end application use Setup/Utilities->Setup->Info Center Settings ->Weather Settings to correct this. If you have entered faulty data it can mean the weather application tries to fetch data about a non existant location, this can be fixed as follows:
Open up a console and type the following:where location is where you live, perhaps using the nearest town or city. Then use the information posted here
If you are using a DVB-T card you need to use a different setup something like this.

Thanks. Sorry to see you go, but you're the type of user we don't want. No one can help you without details. The issues you mentioned are minor are best. Failure w/ Ubuntu and or MythDora have nothing to do with KnoppMyth.
