It seems the remote included with the silverstone LC16M has a "mouse pad" arrow keys and the imon-pad codes won't work. Does anyone have a solution to this, or is getting another remote the best solution?

This might be a good starting point.

Good luck!

Download the latest lirc source (0.8.1pre5) and apply the pad2keys patch found @

http://brakemeier.de/electronics/vdr/lirc-imon.html

This patch modifies lirc_imon to send key presses instead of mouse events. I have successfully gotten this to work.

Ignore the section about the patch to get 0.8.0 to compile on kernels >2.6.16. 0.8.1 already has this fix and will compile without a problem.

Check out this thead

http://www.mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewto ... t=lircimon

about recompiling lirc on R5E50. The bottom line is, download the full source, copy the kernel headers to the source dir and compile the kernel to generate the needed files to compile lirc.

Excellect case, isn't it?

May I ask what you needed to do to make it work other than apply the patch? The remote doesn't generate any up/down/left/right events at all, and doesn't generate mouse events reliably either. What lircd.conf are you using?

I'm running lircd in debug mode and using irw to monitor events. I occasionally get a Mouse_S event, but nothing else.

When you apply the patch to the 0.8.1pre5 source, it tries to patch the lircd.conf but fails. Just open the patch file and find the new keycode definitions for the pad keys and add them to the lircd.conf file. That worked for me.

Ok, I was just reloading lircd but the changes are in the driver module. Once rebooted the keys work well.
