Just a note for people doing an install...

There is a folder missing. You know you have this problem if
MTD wont start when ripping DVDs.

The directory is /var/lib/mythdvd/temp.
MTD needs to store its log in there (why its in lib rather than
log I dont know). If you run MTD from the command line you
will see the error "unable to open file" with this folder name.

Actually the intended behaviour is to have that stuff go into a different directory. Apparently the setting gets missed in certain cases. You can fix it with this command:

mysql -u root mythconverg -e "update settings set data='/myth/tmp' where value='MythArchiveTempDir'"

Also make sure that MythArchiveShareDir is pointing at /usr/share/mythtv/mytharchive/
