Hi,

i just decided to update my old twinky knoppmyth box. I did a clean re-install since i didn't have any valuable files in the device.

The problem now is: I do have a NVidia GForce MX4000 based card in my bix (which worked without problem with my >2 year old knoppmyth). But now the installation hangs when 5E50 is "Checking for NVidia driver" (or similar). Something is happening, but the digital as well as the analog output of the card are switched off and i don't have a picture anymore. I also can't switch to the console (using ALT-CTRL-F1) nor can i log into the box since network isn't configured at that point.

I am stuck at this point. Can i somehow make the system skip the nvidia driver checking during installation?

Try this:

- boot in single user mode (see http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php? ... terInstall)
- replace /etc/X11/xorg.conf with /etc/X11/xorg.conf.nvidia.tv.out.example
- edit xorg.conf as follows:
- add Option "NvAGP" "0" to the Device section for Card0
- change Option "TVStandard" to "HD480i" (per www.gossamer-thread.com/lists/mythtv/users/195796 )

Hi, thanks! I am sure that would have worked as well. In the meantime i booted from an old SuSe rescue CD and did the changes to the XF86config there.
