I didn't think to look at the link, and if I was a potential new user looking for a mythtv/linux distribution I doubt would consider following the link either.
I know that I rarely bother trying out software that seems abandoned, certainly not a entire OS.

It would be different if the April Fools prank was something more obvious, like "Hey I've been hired by Microsoft, you can all go to hell".

From an 'outsiders' perspective, I have to agree.

I had built a previous KnoppMyth box which I was very happy with, but for my new build I decided to try some other distro's.
After tinkering for a while I came to the conclusion I preferred KnoppMyth and came to download the latest version, only to be confronted by the "I'll no longer be able to maintain KnoppMyth." message on the front page.

It was only due to the fact I wanted to check out the discussions to see if it was being picked up by anyone that I came here, (and to be honest it's still not clear to me whether development *is* continuing on this).
Also the fact you can't see anything on the forums without a login did nothing to alleviate my confusion. Luckily I had a login I'd used previously, but to be honest if I was a new user looking for a Myth distro, I would probably have not bothered creating a new forum account for something which (for all intent and purpose) was being abandoned, just to find out whether it really was or not.
