I have recently installed R5E50 and managed to get tv_grab_au_reg working with the help of manicmike's script. However, all program listings are shown against UTC time and so are listed as starting 10 hours earlier than reality.

I have followed the wiki's "ProgramGuideIsOff" and scoured the forum and tried a number of other suggestions but to no avail.

What I see is this:
1. Computer bios time is set to UTC.
2. Knoppmyth time (bar of Fluxbox desktop) shows local time.
3. Mythtv time as shown in program listing shows local time
4. tzconfig gives correct timezone
5. date gives correct local time
6. hwclock --show gives local time

I have rebooted to check the time settings stick and they do. I have rerun mythtv-setup and deleted then re-entered the sources, run mythfilldatabase and still no change. I am totally confused as to what time should be used where. From what I understand they seem to agree with what the wiki tells me they should be but still I get the time discrepancy.

I do notice that the tv_grab_au file does make reference to "force-explicit-timezone". Do I need to set this option?

Can anyone help?

Yup. Go into mythtv-setup -> 1. General and press enter 3 times.
There's a setting for "time offset for xmltv listings" which is set to "None" by default. Change it to "Auto" then run mythfilldatabase again.
Everything should be fixed.

Cheers

Mike

Thanks Mike.

I am pretty sure it is already set to Auto because I had tried playing with that. I will check when I get home tonight.

It got me twice (I'd forgotten - ADHD) so now I know how to fix it. It will work :-)

Mike,

Once again you were right. I was looking at the EIT time offset setting which of course is of no use to me.

Thanks once again.
