I use this theme once in a while, very nice looking theme. The animated MePo character is adorable... :)

Stupid question - after I download it, what do I have to do to install it?

Untar it into /usr/share/mythtv/themes
Code:
tar -zxvf MePo-wide-0.3.5.tar.gz -C /usr/share/mythtv/themes

Thanks, that got it installed. The problem is that the menu items and gremlin "flash" for just a moment and disappear, leaving just the background color and black stripe at the bottom third of the screen. Any thoughts? Thanks

I might be mistaken but the theme only works w/ the SVN version of MythTV.

Does that mean it does not work in R5D1?

It works with R5F1. I am using a standard television and it still look fine even though it is for wide screens.

Hi,

I can sort of make it work in R5C7.. I first load:
ProjectGrayhem-wide-2.1.tar.bz2
ProjectGrayhem-2.1.tar.bz2
then the MePo.
MePo by itself has a messed up back ground but if you setup Project, then switch to MePo you get MePo on the Project background and it seems to work fine. I don't see the animation on R5C7.

Animations only work with the SVN version of mythtv.

Hi I am running R5E50 and was running the next to latest release of MePo with no issues. You had to select Mepo instead of default for the menus (i think). Also to get the animations you had to have OpenGl effects. This can cause slowdowns though even on my dualcore 3.2 ghz intel box with 1 gig ram. Especially if you try to do vnc.

I installed this theme on R5F1 and it appears to work, but I only get the standard Arial like font rather than the fancy one shown in the screenshots. Does some font package need to be installed too?

Ok, the answer was in the readme on the MePo site. Simply copy the file HandelGotD.ttf from the theme directory to /usr/share/fonts/truetype/.
Code:
cp /usr/share/mythtv/themes/MePo-wide/HandelGotD.ttf /usr/share/fonts/truetype/

Hi guys,

Not sure if ive got something wrong, but the mepo-wide theme is black for many of the "configuration" screens in mythfrontend.

Ive upgraded to R5F1, but it did the same thing with R5E50.

Any clues on what settings to change this? It is a nice looking theme, but unusable beyond the first entry screens.

Cheers,

Nathan
