happend with old recordings too. I changes from xvmc to ( standard or libmpeg2 ) playback and all was cured. looks like r5f1 dosnt like xvmc with my video card may get the new nvidia drivers if ime feeling brave.

My first guess would actually be that the X modelines or default values for nvidia-settings are slightly different.
