As linux newbie, I am not really sure how to troubleshoot DNS problems. I am able to ping my gateway:

ping 192.168.2.44 -c3

The replies are good. However...

ping yahoo.com
ping: unknown host yahoo.com

When I ping yahoo's actual IP

ping 216.109.112.135

I receive good replies. Without DNS, I can not effectively run 'mythfilldatabase'. Is there a troubleshooting procedure that can get me to the root cause? Thanks!

I viewed the file /etc/resolv.conf and saw the nameserver address was 192.168.2.442 when it should have been 192.168.2.44.

I had a simlar problem with initializing the IP addr (eth0): it is 192.168.2.201, when it should be 192.168.2.20.

'mythfilldatabase' seems to be working now.
