Probably a silly question, but I'll let it fly anyway. If I run 'apt-get install =f install', this, in theory should not cause a problem with my otherwise working knoppmyth setup right??? I'm trying to install a piece of software that has different (read: higher) library requirements and it told me to do this. Should I be ok??

Change your sources.list to "stable" and you should encounter no major issues.
