Hi,
in previous versions I was able to download a missed TV show, throw it on a cd/dvd and put it in my myth box.
Once through the video setup to scan for the files on a disk I could play said video file through >media library>watch videos.
Myth in R5F1 doesn't seem to be able to scan for video files now. Or rather it doesn't find them on the cd/dvd in the drive. Whats going on?
I thought it was the codecs, and updated everything as appropriate. But still no joy.
Any help greatfully recieved.
Regards Chris

Is the CD/DVD auto-mounting?

After I posted originally I thought about that, and I'm not sure. Certainly DVD's play and discs appear to spin up. This would suggest that Myth is at least recognising a disc whether that means it's auto-mounting I don't know. I was wondering if a path is not set somewhere. I'm planning to have a look through the setup menus today as I'm not in work.

Well, nothing obvious in the menus. Myth is to set to scan for CD/DVD on insert. I did notice however that in file types 'avi' is not set to any sort of association. I would still expect scanning to identify that there was a file there...
I'll have a go at mounting the disc manually and see if I can play the file from the command line.

Didn't get very far with running the file from the command line, and then moved onto more exciting things and trashed my myth box. I'll come back to this, if it is necessary.
