This is a test machine that I use VNC to access. I changed the MythTV window size settings so that I could see more of the XTerm behind the frontend. The VNC connection died (that is normal, I think when the frontend redraws its top-level window it sends a special X message).

I have not been able to connect via VNC since then, though. Have rebooted the machine, checked the X logs, et c.

The machine is coming up, starting X, and x11vnc, but VNC connection kills the VNC server. Log file reveals:
Code:
cat /var/log/x11vnc.log
...
The VNC desktop is:      mythtv-server:0
01/09/2007 14:27:29 Got connection from client 192.168.0.7
01/09/2007 14:27:29   other clients:
01/09/2007 14:27:29 Disabled X server key autorepeat.
01/09/2007 14:27:29   to force back on run: 'xset r on' (3 times)
01/09/2007 14:27:29 created xdamage object: 0xa00024
caught X11 error:
01/09/2007 14:27:29 deleted 32 tile_row polling images.
01/09/2007 14:27:29 Restored X server key autorepeat to: 1
X Error of failed request:  BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request:  144 (MIT-SHM)
Minor opcode of failed request:  4 (X_ShmGetImage)
Serial number of failed request:  131
Current serial number in output stream:  133

Anyone seen anything like this before?

One of the things I have noticed since I no longer have my MythFrontend full screen (and in a window with a 5px border around it) is that when I connect to my myth box via VNC, the local screen never seems to update beyond the initial connection.

I too have noticed that I have to close and reopen VNC when pausing video and such. I do not get more the initial screen and when navigating menus.

I used to be able to watch VNC video near 30fps.

There's some weirdness when using OpenGL as your paint engine. Doesn't like vnc for some reason. QT works fine.
