Thanks but the issue was independent of MythTV.

Things are looking better! I have a couple minor issues to address. In addition, I'm awaiting additional feedback from the testers. Again, kudos to the testers! We couldn't be this close without them.

As stated earlier by someone else, "I feel warm and fuzzy inside".

Might I suggest folks get thier SD membership now. It will be one less thing to do once the release is out. Besides, we don't want to DDOS them will all the KnoppMyth folks getting memberships. ;)

Very Thoughtful. Leads me to a question though, How do you think the various KM mirrors are going to do? Do most people use BitTorrent, or are we going to anger some ISPs?

It should be up rather quickly on 3 of the mirrors plus bit torrent. The 3 that it will be up on should have no issues!

Lets just say that a typical release will have more downloads than forum members. :D

Yes, typically with an announcement in the KnoppMyth -> Announcements forum.

A RSS feed for http://www.mysettopbox.tv/ would be really nice.

I subscribe to http://www.mininova.org/rss/knoppmyth, should work for new releases.

Just a little longer folks...Yesterday, I added the latest MythTV-fixes. The testers are pondering on it....

It looks like Zap2It finally went dark this week. (at least I stopped getting updates.) I appreciate the attention to detail being applied to perfecting the release, but my window has closed for now. -- I can really only take the time to do upgrades on weekends, and next weekend is looking pretty busy, so it had to be today for me. I've been a bit of a chicken about upgrading from SVN, but finally followed the instructions in the Getting Schedules Direct working with KnoppMyth thread. The posters there seem to be having a mixed bag of successes and failures, which explains me being a chicken. The update seemed to go smooth for me; and was a lot less scary then I was expecting. I've turned the testers loose (i.e my kids) and no complaints yet.

I still want R5Fx; there are other features I'm looking for, (especially if there are updates for the iMON VFD,) but I for one can now afford to wait patiently.

Here's the food for thought though. I had printed out my "Upcoming Recordings" list from mythweb as a sanity check, and it really changed after the update. The new list was consistent with the new data, meaning the new Schedules Direct data was significantly different from the 5-day old Zap2It data. And from looking at the live shows the new data was right. The point is, the SD Folk's party line of "you'll have two weeks to upgrade after Z2I goes dark" may need to be rethought, as even 5-day old data seems to be pretty stale.

Those waiting for the R5Fx release may want to confirm their schedules through some form of web listings, or perhaps rethink installing from SVN. Verify Zap2It is gone first, it might just be me... Being chicken is one thing; being Chicken Little is another.

I am anxious as well, although other factors have forced me to wait. my zap2it listings say they will run out on 16 Sept. I can't get to my boxes until night of 15 Sept. Fortunately, other than a couple of sci fi things that run regularly, dr who, eureka, the wife says nothing new starts until 24 sept or there abouts.

Cecil everyone waits with anxiety for R5Fx, but also I am sure we would rather have your full quality assurance and patience than rush a good update.

Thanks to all your work and that of the test crowd.

BTW, I have been playing with another pvr package this week for that other platform, it seemed to be rushed and no where near the quality of KM. Keep up the great work!
