So I took the plunge and upgraded from R5F1 to R5F27. But the system hangs while booting at the "checking nvidia driver..." The screen flashes and then goes blank. The strange thing is there is no nvidia card in my system. It is a Via pm800 chipset with integrated graphics.

I am unable to ssh into the box to disable the script as the network card has not been set up yet. I know LILO has some boot options, but I don't know what they are or how to access them.

Any help would be appreciated.

:D

See the rescue boot information here: http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=BlackScreenAfterInstall

You can use the lilo options as you mentioned or use the CD as a rescue disk.

See:

It wasn't the nvidia install script as I had originally thought.

We've got at least three different threads running on the same issue, lets merge the conversations.

It appears to me that the two threads posted by tjc have to do with nvidia cards. While my issue was resolved by updating the openchrome drivers as stated in the link in my third post. I just don't want to get anyone confused.
